First Star I See Tonight - Susan Elizabeth Phillips
This is my first book by this author and I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it!
Going into this I had serious doubts about being able to get through it forget love it as much I have. All because this is written in third POV which is not something I'm fond of and also because the writing style was a little bit different from the usual books I read.
But once I crossed the first few chapters I was hooked. The story isn't predictable at all. It kept me on my toes the whole time and I absolutely loved the suspense elements added to it.
This book is about a retired player and a detective (like those PI Detectives). They butt heads and slowly fall for each other. I loved the banter between them. This book had a light hearted mood, witty banter, suspense and romance. Definitely felt the steam factor was missing (meaning the explicit sex scenes) but I didn't mind it because the chemistry was spot on. I loved both the characters and felt everything was portrayed in a very realistic wholesome way.
