Good Boy - Sarina Bowen and Ellen Kennedy
Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody - absolutely nobody! - can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor, and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.
But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?
Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear
I usually don’t like love stories that begin with one night stands, which is the reason I did not like the book in the beginning but the book grew on me.
Jess is busy planning for her younger brother’s wedding and while she is planning for the wedding she realizes she may not want to do this at all. She was afraid to confront her family about this because they have been supporting her till date. I could connect to her so well maybe because she felt that she had a different purpose in her life something HUGE. Since she has five siblings, they all have done wonders with their life and she feels like she hasn’t achieved anything extraordinary Also this girl is blessed she can sing, knit, plan a party, the list is endless. I was so sad when she wasn’t confident about herself. She was under confident but her sass never left her. She is constantly arguing with Blake.
Blake our ice hockey player who is popular and super-hot! Since that night this guy cannot stop drooling when he is near her and when they are away from each other he will not sending annoying texts or images. He has a past damn, if I had a past like that I would probably have trust issues but this guy did not let this affect him.
I just loved how these two stood up for each other and I loved their banter!
Blake made Jess feel so confident and reminded her to be. He took things slow with her, he knew her way too well to push her on making decisions. The books I filled with laughs and a lot of :p.
What I did not like was that it did not have an epilogue. Who does not give an epilogue?
Any chick but Jess Canning, that is. She’s my problem. And I can hardly even form the words in my mind, they’re so awful. I’m falling for her. But does she notice? No, no and no. My date is too busy fawning over the Irish chump on the stage.
Songs mentioned in the book:
