Not my Romeo~ Isla Madden-Mills

Plot

We start off with a lie on Valentine’s Day.

My blind date isn’t the studious guy I expected: he’s a drop-dead gorgeous player with sinful amber eyes. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic.

The next day I learn he’s Jack Hawke—bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past. The NDA he has me sign should be a warning that he isn’t a regular person. Please. I sign it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, a famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian.

But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I’m sure he’s gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet. How’s a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him?

Is Jack my real Romeo… or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart

The blurb and the book weren't the same for me. I was excited as the blurb was amazing and I felt it would be different from the other romance books I have read .

I was loving the book but everything soon went downhill, nothing was working for me all of a sudden.

In the beginning, Elena seemed so strong to me but I was proved wrong. I found this character very contradictory one minute she was saying she hated something and when Jack kissed her it became okay?

Omg no! wait, what? I said this so many times while reading the book.

What I understood from the blurb was that Jack would meet her and feel this crazy attraction which will lead him to find her but no that did not happen.

( Talk about being heartbroken)

I get it that both of them very tough pasts but their relationship was hard to understand their relationship and them as characters, it just got me so frustrated.

What I loved about Jack was that he watched KDRAMas. Like Woah! He totally got me there.

What I loved about Jack was that he was so kind and giving to people.

The book seemed like a friend with benefits book. What’s funny is that Elena's pet pig is also called Romeo. JUST IMAGINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There could be more tension between the characters.

I wouldn't pick this book again to read.
