The Darkest Star (Origin #1) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

** spoiler alert **

4.5 🌟 The first thing I would like to say about the book : I NEEED MORE . AND I NEED IT RIGHT NOW!!! It's no joke how engrossed JLynn can make you feel in a book. It took me sometime to get back to reality. I just... I don't think I can do this review without a spoiler because there are SO MANY FEEEELS that its not possible for me to hold in! Like the blurb states the book starts 5 years ahead of Opposition. Luc is all grown up and .....HOT. Evie is 17 and they meet in his club. She's not a huge fan of him. It's a hate love thing going on. And what happens in the whole book is a little bit of fun, a little bit of sexy, a little bit of swoon, a little bit of romance and a whole lot of mystery and suspense! It got me turning the pages so fast I couldn't put it down until I'd finished. The writing makes you feel really involved in the book. You just go into that world. You connect to the characters with ease. And you feel sooo much right there along with them! I was kinda hoping to see more of the characters from the previous books but it's fine. It's a new series so it deserves new characters as well. So now...for the ranting bit filled with spoilers: Firstly, I was expecting more from the heroine. She's great don't get me wrong but It felt unfair how Luc could love her soo much and have it not returned the same way. Yes I know she doesn't remember but DAMMIT IT HURTS. it rips me apart to know what Luc's going through. And I just want MOREE to be able to see her love him like I know she will as the books progress. I guess its similar to Obsidian in that manner where the girl is slow to pick up on her feelings for the guy. But the difference here was that the guy was already in love with her. And that was all it needed to cut me open. And the plot twist. ...I felt for the girl. I actually felt what she was feeling. I was torn up for her. And it felt so real. I do love the heroine but I feel like more of her character could hand been shown to understand her and like her more. The book needed more pages ... That's it. I usually dread it when books have more than 300 pages but this book? I wouldn't care if there were 600 ...I would actually want that. (Can I have a Luc too please?)

I love his T-shirts! XD

“His shirt read MUGGLE IN THE STREETS, WIZARD IN THE SHEETS.”

I just ...it's going to take a lot to get over this book and not think about it until the next one comes up. I just hope the writer doesn't have us waiting too long because it'll drive me CRAZY.

Review by Ria:

I never wanted to read this because I knew it would be addictive but yes I did read and now I have to wait till the next one. The book is amazing it has all the elements , I laughed, gasped, teared, was in pain, in awe and in love with Luc... Also I got to see our handsome favorite Daemon!! Don't think just pick this one! This book is so good that I am not able to write a detailed review . The pick up lines by Luc is lit! The things that Evie goes through is so understandable!! Damn the author for always writing such amazing books😍😭

About the book:

When seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen...but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she'd only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head...
