The Revenge Pact - Ilsa Madden-Mills

River Tate is a god on campus.

The king of football.

A tattooed bad boy with gunmetal eyes that see right through you.

The only chink in his armor is HER, the girl he pretends doesn’t exist, the forbidden one with the shy smile and lavender hair.

Anastasia Bailey is a nobody.

The queen of nothing.

An outsider with the face of an angel and a body made for sin.

The only chink in her armor is HIM, her boyfriend’s frat brother, the football player who hates her.

But when Anastasia’s life comes crashing down, River’s the one who sweeps in and picks up the pieces.

Torn between loyalty, lies, and secrets, he battles the temptation to take everything from her when they make their revenge pact.

He can’t tell her no.

Because revenge (or love) is sweet, and once you get a taste, the craving never ends.

While this book isn't the best I've ever read in all college romances... It's also not the worst.

There's almost no revenge as the title or plot would suggest and I found myself loving that tbh.

I really loved the male lead, who's loyal to a fault. Sometimes his loyalty got annoying because it only kept him from experiencing the happiness he deserves.

I also liked how they didn't show the girl's ex as some good guy turned douchebag. They just weren't meant to be. Ergo, the no revenge happening here.

The female leads character is one of the most unique characters I've read to date. She's fun, smart, kind and very accepting of all kinds of people she comes across. Her life definitely hasn't been normal. I feel like we could've gotten more about her background and more content on how it's affected her.

Romance wise this book does make an impact but not overtly so. It's...a good read. Definitely try it once if you're into college romance and bad boys who are actually good. I did read it in one sitting, it was quite engaging!
